Skins in Counter-Strike appeared more than ten years ago. They became one of the reasons for the popularity and longevity of the game. But what are skins in CS2 anyway?
What are skins?
Skins in CS2 are cosmetic items. They change the appearance of weapons, equipment and player characters in the game. Skins do not affect the gameplay or equipment characteristics, this is only a way to emphasize your individuality and make yourself beautiful. Skins meet a wide variety of aesthetic preferences: sci-fi, abstraction, classic camouflage, antiquity, and much more.

Another facet of skins is the market. The fact is that the skin is not tied to the player’s account forever. You can buy skins CS2. Skins can also be exchanged, crafted or sent to other players as a gift. In a way, each skin is a digital asset.
How to get skins in CS2
In CS2, skins can be purchased in various ways. In total, there are four ways to get them. Here they are:
Weekly drops. Every week, active players get the opportunity to pick up four in-game items from the pool offered by the game;
Opening cases. CS2 has loot boxes. Opening each costs $2.5. In return, the player gets a randomly selected skin from those in the case;
Exchange and purchase. Skins can be exchanged or bought from another player;

Trade contracts. Having collected ten skins of the same type and rarity, you can exchange them for one random skin of a higher rarity. There are many nuances in the crafting process in CS2.
Each method is associated with its own features. For example, in weekly drops, the pool of items is strictly limited. You can not get all the skins, and some cases drop much less often than others. The fastest and most reliable way to get a skin is to buy it from another player.
